Northern Hospitality is a Portland-based hospitality and event management company specializing in hotel management and operations, corporate and private event planning, creation and execution of signature events, and commercial real estate development and management focused on transformative place-making projects.

Our eclectic and independent portfolio includes the Hampton Inn Lewiston-Auburn; Thompson’s Point and its outdoor venues – the Depot Pavilion and Concessions and the Rink at Thompson’s Point;  Brick South Events & Catering; Halo at the Point; and Burbicorn Studios and Light Industrial. We specialize in embodying and enacting the realization that the hospitality business begins at the moment of our first engagement with our guests – whether through word of mouth, social media, print or radio marketing, or any other channel – and doesn’t have an end point. Hospitality for us includes every aspect of our guests’ experience: getting to and from our managed properties seamlessly; experiencing top-notch food, beverage, recreation, and entertainment; knowing that the venues engage in sustainable practices from green cleaning and water conservation to recycling and composting; and above all else, ensuring that the connections with our team members feel welcoming, professional, enjoyable, and guaranteed to make our guest and patrons want to become our repeat customers.

Portfolio

  • We opened the 93-room LEED-Gold certified Hampton Inn Lewiston/Auburn in 2014 at the edge of the Androscoggin River and at the heart of the City of Lewiston, a vibrant central Maine mill town full of businesses, shops, restaurants, Bates College, two regional hospitals, and great arts and cultural attractions—including the Dempsey Challenge and the Great Falls Balloon Festival, both centered in Simard Payne Memorial park right next door. From our central location, you can put in a canoe and explore the city from the water, enjoy your complimentary hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi, and let our top notch team make sure you have a perfect stay.

  • Situated on a 30 acre waterfront site next to the Portland Transportation Center at the gateway to Maine’s largest city, Thompson’s Point is a former railyard that is being thoughtfully transformed into a dynamic transit-oriented neighborhood that is a thriving epicenter of arts, culture, and entertainment. Home to the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine, an outdoor concert venue with capacity up to 6,500; an outdoor skating rink and winter festival site attracting 45,000+ visitors a year; Bissell Brothers Brewing; Sacred Profane; Leisure Time; Rwanda Bean Coffee; the International Cryptozoology Museum; Halo at the Point event venue; the Burbicorn Studios and Light Industrial pop up arts space; and ongoing arts installations including the Tree of 40 Fruit and NuPenny; Thompson’s Point is a hub of creative activity. And it’s just getting started.

    Thompson’s Point

  • Brick South, our largest indoor event space at Thompson’s Point at 2535,000 square feet, was once a bustling locomotive engine repair shop, featured at the heart of the terminal peninsula. If you look closely, you can still see the large front bay openings through which train cars came in and out of the building. Today, it is a dynamic event venue hosting galas, weddings, fundraisers, festivals, corporate events and Thompson’s Point’s signature programming – including our Maker’s Market, a celebration of local artists, craftspeople, farmers, and merchants. Its historic features, including original steel and timber trussing, 3 three-story brick interior, and industrial accents, combine with contemporary amenities to create an event experience like no other.
